EDF Energy price drop

Cornwall Energy has reported EDF Energy will reduce its standard variable gas price by 1.3% from 11 February, the company announced on Tuesday 27 January. It said that the size of the cut that it was able to offer had been limited by its hedging strategy and the fact that its customers already benefited from low standard prices. Beatrice Bigois, the company’s managing director of customers, said:  “EDF Energy has a strong track record of acting independently in the interests of customers who have benefitted from the best standard variable prices for the majority of the last three years, in comparison to other major suppliers. Today’s price cut means our standard tariffs will continue to be among the most competitive in the market.”
